Rain Criticized for Taking Time Off

K-Pop Star Rain (photo credit to rightful owner)

Wow...I thought once you're in the military in Korea, you are in and don't come out until you are discharged.

But apparently that is not the case for idols. Super Junior's Leeteuk is supposedly taking some time to do a musical this month. It's based on a war, but he's still doing it while he is in the army.

And now, K-Pop King Rain is being criticized for taking more time off from the military. The way that it was broken down was such:

17 stand-down days
10 unofficial overnight stays
44 official overnight leaves

For a total of 71 vacation days, which averages out to a day off every 4.22 days. And he was only about 300 days into his service.

His agency says he was up recording in the studio and for him to go and come back would be more money. (To this point, I know that recording studios cost a lot by the hour so I can understand.)

Rain has since stopped any outside military activities until his investigation is over.

However, I still don't understand how this is possible since you are supposedly in the service? And how in the world could he even afford that much time off? Don't they make it a little difficult for you to get out in public with all the training and the work?
